Link: Executives find it hard to balance work & life-Career & Business-Mumbai-The Economic Times.
According to a global survey conducted by Bluesteps.com, as many as 75% of Asia Pacific executives responded that work-life balance was difficult and has worsened in the past 5 years. Not surprisingly, most cited the frequency of work travel as the major drawback. It would be interesting to find out what the average amount of work travel is considered "standard". I do have friends and contacts who are traveling once a month at the very least - even one who is out of the country 70% of the year! How long people can sustain that, I don't know. But definitely something companies need to start addressing seriously to retain and/or attract their talent.
